Help Shape Gawler’s Disability Access & Inclusion Plan
The Town of Gawler is reviewing and redeveloping the Disability Access & Inclusion Plan (DAIP), and we want your input!
The DAIP is designed to increase access to services and supports and create opportunities for everyday participation. It also aims to foster a welcoming, inclusive environment for people with disability living in or visiting Gawler.
The plan’s actions contribute to a healthy, active, safe, and engaged community that is accessible for everyone. The current DAIP aligns with the Inclusive SA: State Disability Inclusion Plan 2019-2023, and the upcoming State Inclusion Plan (August 2025) will guide the development of Gawler’s new DAIP.
This review is a chance for the community to share priorities, needs, and aspirations, ensuring the new plan reflects the voices of people with disability and strengthens inclusion across our town.
Disability Access & Inclusion Survey
From now through to mid-2026, Council will undertake significant community engagement to gather a broad range of experiences and perspectives and better understand community priorities for accessibility and inclusion. All responses and feedback will inform the development of the new Gawler DAIP.
The Disability Access & Inclusion Survey is the first step in this engagement process.
Hard copy surveys are currently available at the Gawler Civic Centre and will be available at all Council customer service points early in the new year.
The survey will remain open until Monday 9 March 2026.
