Town of Gawler – Property Owners and Voting Rights

Do you live outside the Town of Gawler but own property here? You may be able to vote in both places — where you live, and where your property is located. This can include people who own or occupy holiday homes, investment properties, or business premises.

Having a say as a property owner is important. Many council services affect the bills you pay and impact the condition of your property. This includes rates, footpaths, roads, and waste collection.

If you own property in the Town of Gawler, you are not automatically enrolled to vote here, even if you pay rates. You need to apply for a voting entitlement to be added to the roll. This allows property owners to have a say in the council area where they have an interest.

So which form do I use?

There are three different forms you can use to enrol on the council voters roll:

Natural Person: For a non-resident owner/occupier who owns property in the Town of Gawler area; is the only owner/occupier (tenant) and does not live or occupy that property.
