Plans to upgrade the Withers Circuit Playspace in Evanston Park are well underway, with construction being carried out by awarded contractor Dirtwork Landscapes between April and June 2026. The existing playground will be transformed into a more exciting, inclusive, and engaging community destination along with a much-needed upgrade to the surrounding reserves irrigation system.
The final playspace design has been shaped by community consultation undertaken between June and July 2025, which showed strong support for a Rural Farm theme and play equipment including a ninja course, swings, multi-play unit, trampoline and slides, along with improved shelter and seating. The completed playspace renewal and irrigation upgrade will be a valuable asset to the neighbourhood and provide local residents with a vibrant new reserve to enjoy.
As part of the project, the existing play equipment will be donated through the Rotary Overseas Recycled Playgrounds Program and with the support of the Gawler Light Rotary Club, repurposed for reuse by a community in need.
The upgrade includes:
- New play equipment:
- Two tower multiplay structure with connecting bridge, tube slide and climbing cube
- Junior tractor multiplay unit with imagination play, climbing, slide and cubby-like space
- Ninja obstacle course
- Swing set with individual swings and basket swing
- Trampoline
- Sheep Rocker
