Proposed Lease – Telecommunications Tower – Smith Road Reserve, Evanston South

Council proposes to grant a new long-term lease over a portion of Smith Road Reserve, being Lot 1003 Main North Road, Evanston South (Certificate of Title Volume 6233 Folio 830), for the continued operation of an existing telecommunications tower.

Lease Details

  • Initial Term: Five (5) years
  • Renewal Options: Three (3) rights of renewal of five (5) years each
  • Maximum Term: Twenty (20) years

Purpose and Intent

The purpose of the proposed lease is to enable the continued operation and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure servicing the community.

The proposal ensures continuity of essential telecommunications services while formalising tenure arrangements in accordance with legislative requirements.

The lease area is limited to the footprint required for the tower and associated infrastructure.

Public Access

The proposal applies only to the defined lease area required for the telecommunications infrastructure. General public access to Smith Road Reserve will not be restricted and the reserve will remain publicly accessible and managed by Council.
